'BEFORE YOU ADD VIRTUE'.

"And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue" - 2 Peter 1:5a
.
Before you add virtue, do you have faith?
.
Faith is a component of the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22) and a composition of the spiritual gifts (1 Cor. 12:9). It is wise that you ask God to cause faith to find full expression in your life before you pursue other things.
.
You may know the theoretical exegesis of faith but do you have the practical demonstration in your life? Are you a man or woman of faith?
.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Rom. 10:17). Strive to hear God's word in all your situation rather than pay attention to the words of fear, doubt, men or your situation. You can only hear the word of God when you cultivate a fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
.
More so, you cannot hear the word of God without asking (Matt. 7:7). Do you have ears that hears God's word? He that has ears can only hear what the Spirit is saying.
.
Isaiah 30:21 says, "And your ears shall hear a word behind you saying, this is the way, walk you in it, when you turn to the right hand and the when you turn to the left".
.
Always ask the Holy Spirit what to do in every situation rather than lean onto your own understanding.
.
The secrets of becoming a person of faith is to walk intimately with the Holy Spirit, trust God and always ask Him before you do anything. It is when He gives you His word that your faith can rest in His word.
