'DO YOU SHINE?'

"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden" - (Matthew 5:14)
.
One major characteristics of a light is that it shines. A light can either shine to a house (Matt. 5:15) or to the world (Matt. 5:14).
.
The world we live in is a world that is filled with darkness (sin, ignorance, confusion, wickedness, evil etc). And it's only the disciples of Christ that can be a light to the world. You can't be a light to the world if you're not a light to your house.
.
A sinner cannot light the world because his or her deed is evil but only God's children can.
.
Remember that you have been called out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Pet. 2:9). Any child of God that still lives in sin cannot be a light that shines because men will see their evil works and such life would bring shame to God.
.
Are you a light of the world?
.
Every child of God has the tendency to emit light and this is achieved when they follow the Light rather than darkness (John 8:12). Who you then follow determines the kind of impact you make - light or darkness.
.
Two important questions you need to ask: "Does my life bring glory to the Father, Do men see my good works?"
.
Light doesn't show off, naturally, it shines. You don't need to tell people that you're good before they see your good works. Men knows who you are through your character (works).
.
Does your life shines or darkens?
