PREPARING FOR MARRIAGE.

There are four institution God reckons with as the founder, they are the home, education, Government and Church; but all the others are products of the home. Hence, the home is the seed and the truth is that the person that controls the seed would ultimately control the forest. No wonder the devil is after the home since he also knows the importance but the good news is the more prepared you are especially in God, the easier it is for you to capture opportunities and strategic moments.

Genesis 2:18-22; that scripture talked about how this great institution began, God saw the need for an helpmeet in verse 18, for God to see the need himself it must be a critical need, which will therefore need urgent and critical intervention. I thought the helpmeet would show forth immediately the way God called out light, animals, etc. but it didn’t happen that way. Alas, helpmeet did not show up in verse 19 or 20, it finally surfaced in verse 22 which means it’s risky to build one (home) without adequate and proper preparation. The gap between verses 18 to 22 is God actual preparation phase and process, He thought and deliberated about it till He came to a good conclusion while Adam was also in the preparatory state.

In our today’s world where almost everything is now fast, a world of the fast; fast food, fast money, fast girl/boyfriend, fiancé/fiancée, fast wife/husband, fast internet, fast network etc, all these has taken away our culture and patience to wait and prepare. Many now just think and immediately act without any planning involved, please never make permanent decisions based on temporary situations not because people are saying you are single or you are feeling lonely and embarrassed so you think getting married will be the solution or escape route. No, it doesn’t work that way, are you prepared?

Going into marriage or driving the vehicle of marriage without proper and adequate preparation can literally kill you and accident of destiny would be unstoppable just like driving a car without training or knowledge of it can cause accident. Friends, what you do not prepare for, you suffer for it; stop saying you are in the wrong courtship or marriage, ask yourself and be sincere, did you prepare for it? One of the greatest tragedy of life is for a prepared man to marry an unprepared woman and vice versa.

The need for preparation cannot be overestimated because on this road many marriages have crashed, some had or having terrible accident leaving the occupants injured, some occupants even die in the process, my prayer is that yours won’t be like that in Jesus Name.

There are various areas for preparation, we shall examine that tomorrow by His grace.
