Remember the sabbath day: Things we do on Sunday!

As God's creation, the things we do must honour and glorify our creator - the heavenly maker. The book of Genesis, paints a clear picture of how we can to be. God in his eternal glory and vim; worked for six (6) day and ultimately on the seventh day He gladly rested.

The spiritual number of seven means completion or symbolizes perfection. God sees perfection in creating human beings and other things; the very reason he rested.

Therefore, what is expected of us as descendants of Adam and Eve; is to emulate our heavenly father. God authorizes work and the scripture even says "no food for a lazy man!" in Proverbs 12:27. Hence, work glorifies men and gives beauty to our existence.

So, when do we go wrong in our daily work activities? Sometimes, is not what we do through our work that displeases God but we do on a sabbath day. The Jewish Sabbath (from Hebrew shavat, “to rest”) is observed throughout the year on the seventh day of the week—Saturday. According to biblical tradition, it commemorates the original seventh day on which God rested after completing the creation.

The modern day Christians arguably makes, the last day of the week, which is Sunday; the day of rest. Though, some still observe it on Saturday but whatever day you choose to observe the rest is very paramount with whatever you choose to do with your day of rest.

The bible makes  us to understand God rests on the sabbath day and He wants us all to do the same. He wants us to use the day to observe, rest, glorify and worship Him but how many of us are doing so?
