ENGAGING THE WORD

"And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her" (Luke 1:38 KJV).

There are three dimensions of God's word which must be understood before it can manifest itself in your life. Many do not know that beyond believing in His word, there are some steps they must take for their life to align with the word.

God's word exists as a promise, prophecy, and principle. I'll only harp on the promise dimension of His word. Promise is an obligation to do something in a distant or nearer future.

It's easy for people to promise you, but it's difficult for them to fulfill it especially when it's beyond their ability. But that's not the case with God. He will never promise and fail because He's not a man that would lie.

When Mary was told how she was going to conceive baby Jesus, she believed it, and Gabriel left her. What promise of God have you received concerning your life that hasn't been fulfilled? If His promises must come to pass, then you must ensure that you prayerfully engage it.

When Nathan told David what God was set to do, he went into the temple to pray. He wasn't wishing or hoping that it would come to pass (2 Sam. 7:25). Jesus promised His disciples the prophetic fulfillment of Joel 2:28, and their response to it was to wait in prayer until the word came to pass. They waited for 10 days until there was an outpouring on the day of Pentecost.

What has God told you about your life that hasn't been fulfilled? Don't sit back and hope it'll come to pass without doing your path. Rise. Go into your place of prayer until you see it come to pass.
