What do you think Adam and Eve would have replied to you with if you'd had asked them this question before the fall?
I'm sure you can guess the answer. "We are the image and likeness of God, created to have dominion." That would have been their answer.
Meanwhile, after the fall, their answer would be, "We are God's image, but have been banished from Eden."
In the garden, they were created to be a gardener, who lived there; but outside it, they became a farmer who lived outside God's presence.
Did you know that everyone after the disobedience of Adam and Eve had lost their true identity? It is not what you do or who you become that defines your identity, your real identity is a function of knowing and becoming who God has created you to be.
Moreover, the only way to know this is to go back to God. Apostle Paul had been living his life based on his religious indoctrination and the vocation he chose (tentmaking). But the day he knew who he was created to be, everything about him changed.
Mind you, your gender, age, race, or family background will not change when you truly know who you are, but your life's pursuit, purpose, and perception about life would surely change.
So, permit me to ask you this life-changing, destiny-deciding and purpose-discovering question: "Who are you?"
Until you go back to Eden (God's presence), it would be difficult for you to answer this question using your intellect. Who you are outside of God is different from who you become in Him.
You can be everything you want to be outside God, but you can only become who God has created you to be if you go back to Him.
Outside his father's presence, the prodigal son fed on the husk the swine ate, but when he returned to him, he was everything his father wanted him to be.
Now, go back to God so you can be sure that you are who He has created you to be, and that you're doing what He has created you to be. Please don't assume, it's costly to do so.
