Oftentimes in the body of Christ, we have been made to believe that faith is an abstract concept or wishful thinking without having our part to play. Some even believe that when you have faith, you sit down and do nothing while you hope for a miracle.
That's far from scriptural truth.
One word that defines Hebrew 11:1 is hope or expectation. And if you're expecting something to happen, what are you doing to make it happen?
Noah believed that the flood is coming according to what God told him, in expectation, he went ahead to build the ark as commanded. If you're expecting rain to fall and you have no bucket outside to receive rainwater, how's that faith?
The workings of faith are not substitutes for faith, rather, they're works done in response to your faith. The woman with the issue of blood hoped that when she touched Jesus' garment, she'll receive her healing.
Did you know that she would have bled to death if she had not made the move to go into the crowd and touch His garment? That's faith and work.
What have you been trusting or believing God for, but you haven't worked out your faith? The workings of faith aren't your plan B, it is moving forward in the direction of what you're trusting God for.
For instance, if you're trusting God for the fruit of the womb, show me your preparation for pregnancy, and your baby's naming ceremony. And if you're believing God for a marital partner, let's see what you're doing to be married.
The workings of faith are foolishness to the natural mind, but that's the only way you can please God.
Remember, a body without a spirit is dead, so having faith without works is lifeless. To your faith, add the workings of faith that would be commensurate with what you're trusting God for.
